Founding Story & Passion
Route 10 Drive-In began with a simple idea: to be a place where families in a small town could gather, eat, and feel at home. Jennifer and Scott bought the diner in fall 2022 and spent 8 months rebuilding it. After a devastating flood in June 2024, they rebuilt again, adding motivational messages on the sign & coffee cups.
Today, Route 10 is a resilient community destination, supporting local businesses and reminding everyone that even after setbacks, you can come back stronger!

Visitors often comment on the retro charm that fills the space—checkered floors, red tables, vintage car décor, and playful vehicle-themed menu names. Beyond the look, we focus on positivity through little gestures like handwritten messages that brighten a guest’s morning. These touches, paired with classic American dishes made fresh, make the diner feel like a comforting stop for anyone passing through Hawarden.
